Tooth fairy was named after the fairytale creature 'Tooth fairy'.
However, unlike the gentle fairy from their name's origins, This Tooth fairy appeared to be more feral and greedy to devour some human or animals' teeth. They will try to do anything to get a hand on them once they had targeting their preys.

Concept of the species:: Mouse( tooth fairy ) + Tooth decay (tooth eating insects nicknamed)
Common tooth fairies's heights are not more than 175 cm. (Only kings and queen of the tooth fairies have more than 175 cm height but less than 250 cm). Since their true form's height are similar to human's, it's hard to sneak in human's houses and taking some teeth. So the tooth fairy most-likely transforms into the smaller self or turn into the fairy little mouse to enter any place without noticing.
The mouse forms are same size as the regular mouse. The only difference between them are their appearance:: wings and some features.
Origin :: Unknown but their appearance seems to mixed between mouses, insects and fairy.

Teeth & Food
Teeth are the important magic sauce for the fairy. Since it was a part that grown and contains some life force from living creatures. Eating teeth helps the Tooth fairies gained the magical energy and make them stronger, in order to live forever or cast some magic spells. They can also eat human food, however it wouldn't benefit them anything ,since teeth are the only way they can get the magic energy and it's unlikely their nature to live without eating ones.

How they collected teeth are depending on their personality. Some of them traded some items exchange for the teeth, acting like the real 'Tooth fairy'. While some of them used other methods such as forcing the prey's teeth to fall off and etc. The methods are depending on how they would like.

Kings and Queen of the fairies
The leader of the tooth fairy, their subordinates can be tiny creatures or another Tooth fairies. They don't hunt the teeth themselves ,since the members of the group will do it for them.

They are very strong in both physical term and magical abilities. Some tooth fairies seeks out their protection ,however if you are one of their enemies, avoid them at all cost.
Species Traits
Forehead & Candle lights
Tooth fairies usually come at night when the sun hides away and the moon rises in the sky. Darkness helps them escape from the human's eyes. The candle light assists the tooth fairies to find their ways in the dark without gaining too much attention, like lost fireflies journey though the night.

Some tooth fairies have the antennae instead of the candle on their foreheads ( moth or crown ). With those antennae as extra perception glands, the tooth fairies possess higher abilities to sense all of things e.g. the surroundings, environments and enemies, so they don't need to see in the dark to seek out their preys.

Bell Tail
Custom shape bell. Each tooth fairies have a different design. There's also a saying that if the tooth fairy's targeting someone, only that poor unfortunate souls can hear the bell echoes in the winds when the other does not. Until they come to take their teeth away.

King & Queen
Not every tooth fairy could be qualified to be crowned as the leader of the hive. Most of them were killed or withering away before they even dare to take the first step.
Destiny by karma and fate, after A tooth fairy gained more teeth and strong enough to go though the process, they become a chrysalis and turned into a Queen or a king. Their appearance will change and their magic will be even more deadly.
So, if you have a chance to meet one of them, take my advice to the heart and do not mess with them.
